The CARBONET -surface-surveillance-fleece is a flexible fibre fleece with non-metallic, conductive coating and is applied in wallpapering-technology.

It is an ideal underlay for individual design. The fleece is equipped with electronic sensors. The sensors monitor the fleece and detect a damage caused by the attempt of breaking through the wall/ceiling/floor or other protected surface. CARBONET can be combined with any alarm-system due to the 12 V power supply and potential free contacts for alarm.

The alternative system to CARBONET is the seismic detector, which detects vibrations caused by the tool used for breaking the wall, ceiling, floor or other surface. The problem of the seismic detector is that he easily can be influenced by:

• railway or subway
  
• motorway
  
• earthquake
  
• building construction work near by
  
• heavy rain and rivers
  
• technical installations like air-condition, elevators, etc.

They all produce vibrations which are detected by the seismic sensor. This makes it hard to use the seismic sensor in down town areas.
Please also remember that a seismic sensor only can monitor a wall made of concrete.

It is not able to monitor the modern walls made of light construction material like plasterboard, brick, honey-comb-structure etc. Vibrations can not influence the CARBONET-system and CARBONET can monitor all kinds of construction material. This is a major benefit.

CARBONET can be integrated in standard construction boards, doors or other construction elements. Using fleece item no. 97501 CARBONET will not detect holes with a diameter of max. 15 mm at any place. So nails, screws, dowels etc. of normal size will not damage the system. The wall/the room can be used normally.
